(Indianapolis, IN) — Indiana Farm Bureau has presented Rep. Todd Rokita with a “Friend of Farm Bureau” award. Rokita represents Indiana’s 4th Congressional District, which encompasses all or portions of Newton, Jasper, Benton, White, Cass, Carroll, Warren, Fountain, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Montgomery, Putnam, Hendricks, Howard, Boone and Morgan counties.
Friend of Farm Bureau recipients are first nominated by their state Farm Bureau organization, and are then approved by the American Farm Bureau Federation’s board of directors.
During the presentation, INFB Vice President Kendell Culp noted that Rokita has a 100 percent voting record on American Farm Bureau priorities in the 114th Congress. Rokita has been supportive of trade and biotechnology, more specifically the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement and the GMO labeling bill.
He also stood up for Hoosier farmers by opposing the death tax, as well as EPA’s ill-conceived Waters of the U.S. rule.
Todd Rokita’s Friend of Farm Bureau award is separate from his general election endorsement by Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT, the nonpartisan political action committee associated with Indiana Farm Bureau.
