(Indianapolis, IN) — Indiana Farm Bureau has presented Sen. Joe Donnelly with the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award. Donnelly represents Indiana in the United States Senate, where he serves on the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
Friend of Farm Bureau recipients are nominated by their state Farm Bureau organization based on their support of national priority issues, and are then approved by the American Farm Bureau Federation’s board of directors.
Donnelly aligned with AFBF on several priority issues in the 114th Congress, including opposition to the EPA’s ill-conceived Waters of the U.S. rule. He played a significant leadership role in the development of the biotechnology labeling bill, and then worked tirelessly to secure its passage.
Donnelly also continues to be a strong proponent of the Renewal Fuel Standard and America’s energy independence.
Friend of Farm Bureau awards are separate from the endorsements made by Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT, the nonpartisan political action committee associated with Indiana Farm Bureau.
