During the Collegiate Farm Bureau trip, which is held each September, participants have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service headquarters to see the special security measures taken by the Agricultural Statistics Board to lock up (protect) corn and soybean statistical reports before they are released to, and move market prices around, the world.
The trip also includes receiving Farm Bureau policy updates from the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF); congressional visits; networking opportunities with USDA, AFBF and other ag and non-profit professionals; AND sightseeing--a moonlight monuments tour is a one of the trip highlights.
This national conference brings together students and young professionals from around the country to network, learn and grow in agriculture. Sessions include professional development, production agriculture, technology and communications, and more. Tours of local farms are available to broaden your knowledge of agriculture in different states. Indiana Farm Bureau will coordinate travel for students, and chapters can fundraise to send even more members.
The 2023 conference is scheduled to be held in Jacksonville, Fla., March 3-6. Click here for a tentative schedule. Registration will be opening soon.
