This June, INFB will host three educator workshops across the state. The workshops are for Agriculture in the Classroom volunteers and any interested teachers. Ag in the Classroom is a program led by INFB which helps bring agriculture education into Indiana’s schools.

Indiana Farm Bureau in conjunction with the Indiana FFA Association hosted an advocacy day at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. More than 150 FFA students from across the state met more than 30 state legislators to discuss how legislation could affect their future and the future of agriculture.

At the start of 2020, the Indiana Farm Bureau special recognition license plate will be available at Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles locations. A portion of the license plate fee will benefit the Farm Bureau Foundation, which supports youth in agriculture.

Many Indiana Farm Bureau members are among the select group of farmers who obtained a license to grow hemp this year. INFB spoke with two of those farmers to learn about growing hemp in Indiana.

Two young farm families, who share similar last names, took the top honors in Indiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmer Awards. Eric and Megan Scheller of Vanderburgh County won the INFB Young Farmer Excellence in Agriculture Award. Aaron and Lacey Sheller of Hamilton County won the INFB Young Farmer Achievement Award.
